This month's egg theme continues with this broken Cadbury Creme Egg. This candy reminds us that Spring is near. They are only available during this time of the year, so this was a special treat to both eat AND paint. It is painted on 6 x 6 gessoed illustration board.
Have you ever taken the time to appreciate the pretty colors that occur during sunrise? Some people are not awake during this time and others, who are awake, do not take the time to really look at how beautiful the sky looks as the sun rises.

The Baltimore Harbor Tunnel is a beautiful example of post-war American architecture. The buildings are set off to the side in a gesture that almost says "I know you have some place to be, why don't you go ahead."

I enjoy the details of this painting. At first glance, you do not notice the houses off in the distance, because the brightness of the headlights demands your attention. Upon further examination of the painting, you are able to enjoy all of its details. This is 9 x 12 on hardboard.
This painting captures the feeling of a secluded place. For a moment, you forget that you’re at a stop sign. I like how your eye immediately looks at the red sign and then travels to the rest of the painting.

This month's theme is eggs, so let's kick it off with a good breakfast! I think I accurately captured each essence of a fast food breakfast from the hash brown's texture to the cheese crumbs sticking to the paper. MMMMM!

When I arranged this pair of boxes I was only interested in the warm and cool colors. I was struck by how it represented daily life. Maybe you are the cardboard box, working to support luxury either at home or for somebody else. Maybe you're the Tiffany box and you're being supported by somebody that loves you.

When I think of Atlantic City, I remember the lights, large casinos, gambling, shows and buffets. It is easy to forget how different and desolate the city appears when you wake up. This painting was inspired from looking outside my hotel window on my most recent trip to Atlantic City
I thought I would include one more red series painting. I like how the red barn in the distance is not as obvious as the focal point of the painting. I feel it is similar to my other barn paintings with the snow in this way. This was a commissioned painting so it is already sold, but I hope you still enjoy looking at it. It is 5 x 7 on canvas panel.
This is the last painting in my red series. I love how the red from the rooster stands out in this painting and overpowers the splenda pig, initially. Your eye then moves to the rest of the painting as you think to yourself, do roosters lay eggs? This is 6 x 8 on canvas panel.
The color that is used for road signs stands out so vividly in this painting. First, your eye travels to the bright green and then around to the rest of the painting. I took this view from my car, near Baltimore on my way home from work.
Valley Forge National Park is so colorful and beautiful in the summer. Since I have been painting so many snow-covered scenes lately, I decided to throw in this one. The red cannon stands out against the green grass as we all think, is the snow over yet?
Shiny metal is another challenge to paint. I think I was able to capture the details of the scale while keeping the brass pig true to its color and luster.
Another snow covered painting? Yes! I thought it was fitting to include another winter scene, especially with all of the snow still covering everything from the recent winter storms. This reminds us that although the snow can be dangerous and annoying, there is still a beauty to it, which I tried to capture in this painting.
I love how farms look in the winter, especially when you can see the vegetation peeking through the snow to remind us that Spring is near. The colors of the sky accentuate the shadows in the snow and it just all works so well together. This is 11 x 14 on stretched canvas.
I painted these red roses from a bouquet of flowers. I decided to focus in on two roses instead of the entire dozen, because it allowed me to show some more detail of the flowers. I thought this was an obvious choice to include in my red series, especially because of Valentine's Day. This one sold quickly, but I hope you still enjoy looking at it.
I saw this sign on the way home from work and it fit in my red theme so I decided to include it. I think I did a good job at accurately capturing the color of the Chick-Fil-A logo. Pop art can sometimes be tricky, because it is so recognizable. Therefore, people would notice if the colors were off. It is painted on 7 x 5 canvas panel.
