St. Peter's Art Show Single Word Review

Hot.

Mix 90 degree temperatures with asphalt and add a pinch of art show vendor drama and you get hot. I'd never been to the show in Lewes, DE before but now I know why so many people encouraged me to give it a try. There were a lot of well known local artists and I was humbled to be included in the mix. I met tons of new people. I was excited to see so many of the people I met last year drop in to check out the new work.

View from inside the tent.

So firm, so smooth, so fully packed.
Makes the tent from a year ago look empty.

Less Than a Week

“We hit the sunny beaches where we occupy ourselves keeping the sun off our skin, the saltwater off our bodies, and the sand out of our belongings.” - Erma Bombeck

Or, Erma, we can occupy ourselves enjoying art. I'll be in Lewes, DE on Saturday and you can see all of my paintings in person. Lewes was the first European settlement in Delaware and it's where I'll be settling for my first outdoor show of 2011.

Beach, fireworks and art... there's no better way to celebrate the nation's independence.

Neighbors' Tree Drawing

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now. - Chinese Proverb

Ok, so this isn't a painting but I'm really happy with how this turned out. I noticed that my drawing and my painting styles have, for the most part, merged. It's true that drawing is the foundation for all painting so I try to keep myself occupied when I don't have time to paint.

"Wait? Not painting? Why?" you ask. As I mentioned before I have a long list of things to finish before my show in Lewes, Delaware on July 2. I've updated my book containing my available paintings, I've finished the labels for the tent and the notecards are printed. I've even made most of the frames I need. Only a few prints are left and I'll be good to go.

Ever wonder what my framed paintings look like?
Freakin' sweet, right?

Up Close & Personal

I've been spending time scanning my paintings in high resolution and it gives me a chance to see my paintings close up. I posted these on my Facebook page a couple of days ago and it generated more excitement than I had anticipated so I thought I'd share them here on the blog too. Let me know what you think.
